Leadership Planning Meeting Takes Place

Three days spent as one team comprised of Tanzanians, Kenyans and Americans planning for the next year together and striving toward one common goal – to grow the next generation of youth in East Africa.

We ate together – Nyama choma is a delicacy (roasted goat meat) and it would not be Africa if you did not have to haggle for the price.

We danced – The punishment for cell phones ringing during the meeting was to dance to BONGO in front of the conference room. For this crowd that was actually not a real punishment. After awhile we started calling each other to make the cell phones ring and get each other in trouble.

They are the ones who get the tough questions and provide the answers that represent us all, and they are doing an amazing job.

We looked to the future with anticipation and excitement. This year alone we will have 12 High School graduates, 2 teacher graduates, and 4 Primary School graduates. We have completed 8 school projects this year, and are planning for 135 students to start the new 2011 school year. WOW.
